These writing prompts can serve as a starting point for building persuasive (argument) essays whether you are working on a persuasive unit or preparing your students for assessment. Encourage students to utilize the PAST strategy to assess the prompts, and share six techniques for composing arguments to assist them to do their most readily useful work.
Starting Persuasive Prompts (Grades 4–5)
Share these prompts with pupils that are starting to compose essays.
1. Just What Season Is The Best?
Many people love hot summers during the pool or beach. Other people love cool winters with sleds and snowmen. Perhaps you like crackling fall leaves or tender springtime plants. Write an essay that names your season that is favorite and factors why it’s best.
2. My Pet of preference
You choose if you could have any pet, what pet would? Puppy? Cat? Snake? Tarantula? Write a page to your moms and dad or guardian naming your pet you would most want to have and providing reasoned explanations why you really need to get to own this animal.
3. Time for a holiday
Just just What holiday do you want many? Hiking in state park? Visiting Grandma? planning to an enjoyment park? Write an essay to your moms and dad or guardian naming exactly what will be a vacation that is perfect providing reasons you’d like to go.
